Celebration of life
The Celebration of Bruce’s Life was held on September 26th in Whistler Fairmont Woodlands. It was a beautiful ‘blue bird day’ and more than 100 people attended the event. A number of Bruce’s photographs, airbrush paintings, drawings and computer compositions were displayed along with pairs of skis that he had decorated for friends. A moving slide show of much more of his artwork and photos of his life was projected on a large monitor throughout the event. Decorated t-shirts from the baseball days were hung from a rack
Mike Douglas did a marvelous job as master of ceremonies, drawing friends into responses and personal memories of times spent with Bruce in skiing, mountain biking, baseball and disk golf. Many toasts were hoisted throughout the afternoon. Bruce would have been very comforted by the good memories and kind words spoken about his important role in the Whistler community and his many kind deeds remembered by his friends.
